The North Okanagan Optimist Club was a proud participant in the 2017 Vernon Sunshine Festival held on June 17th. Members of the Club spent a fun day greeting families and sharing our club’s optimism.
A variety of games were available for children to play. Kids of many ages seemed to love the bean toss and the bottle rings. It was fun to watch everyone. Books, balls, pencils and drinks were distributed all day.
The Vernon Leos helped support the club by supervising the games and encouraging the kids to play games. They did a great job and the Optimist Club thanks them for their contribution.
The North Okanagan Sailing Association (NOSA) displayed two Opti-sailboats – the Optimist decal on the boats showing the Club’s support for this program.
Surprising us with a visit during the day was Ed Murray, Past District Governor. Ed had attended our charter banquet back in 2011.
It was a beautiful, sunny, fun-filled day. Thanks to the Optimist members for their time and energy in making this happen.
